Oh man I always love this thread! I haven't been as active on it since we moved here from the old boards, but the OP has great taste and im always happy to see it pop up!

New bruce lee album was okay. I still think their last album was perfect however.

Looking about I never posted about Supernova? How is that possible?
Anyhow, the best ska festival in America is coming back in 2020 and it happens in Virginia
I am "sponsoring" Mephiskapheles for this and if you are on the east coast I assure you it is worth the trip.

Thrillsville, Brisvegas
I backed it and have downloaded it, yet to watch.

What is everyone listening to at the moment? I am back on a Slackers tear. Wish they would tour here in Australia, but that’s wishful thinking.

Thirsty guys are great! With this and the Omnigone (superband with ex-Link80) Bad Time Records is steadily building an impressive catalogue!

That Bruce Lee Band Album though... as much as I love Mike Park, most songs sound way too familiar. Free Breakfast is very close to a Call me Malcom song, Inside out’s chorus.

If you’re down for some crack rock steady, there’s a new Dead Rejects album.

And, finally, if you’re into The Suicide Machines, German band Thee Infidels released a new song a couple of months ago:

I was listening to that Omnigone album the other day. Had no idea it had ex Link80 members. Good stuff.

Didn't know that Dead Rejects had a new album out. Thanks for the heads up! You know an album is going to be good when it starts with an Always Sunny clip. Loved the one listen I gave it so far. Was a big fan of Grave Mistakes, so I'm sure I'll listen to this one a bunch.

Thanks so much! I need to be more active as well. I'll have a big post of albums soon.

That lineup is amazing. So many bands I want to see. Happy to see The Loving Paupers playing some big events.

Glad you're liking it! Probably the album I've been listening to most lately.

I never thought I'd see the likes of Call Me Malcom and Just Say Nay on here. Not only are they local legends, but I was lucky enough to share a stage with them over the course of a 3-day festival celebrating the life of Mike Crampton from The Pisdicables who was tragically killed a few years back.

Because of that, I'd like to share The Pisdicables stuff - I reckon you guys would like it!

Over the weekend Reel Big Fish's 'She Has a Girlfriend Now' came on shuffle and i had to make a serious side eye b/c in hindsight that song is a bit...uh...yeah.

we have a reggae thread!? nice!

so i don't know what flavor of reggae this thread is more onto, but i'm hoping sublime, slightly stoopid, rebelution, dirty heads flavor is acceptable. if not, oh well sorry lol

i came across these guys who i never heard before, really loving it. "music lives forever" line makes me so happy :)

A couple of their songs haven't aged well, though I will say that they too have noticed and have made changes to a couple of their songs (most notably, 'In The Pit')

Call Me Malcolm are genuinely friendly guys. The singer with the beanie and his wife spent a good half hour at a festival with me, having beers, talking about dogs and mental illness. I cannot wait for their new record!

It’s more a rebelution feel but it’s still great!

Seeing Reel Big Fish this evening, supported by Lightyear and [spunge]. Haven’t heard [spunge] in years but they’re pretty fun for an old pop-punk band.

That's awesome. Have fun! That sounds like a great show. Was lucky enough to see Vic Ruggiero this past Sunday at my friends bar. Nothing like seeing a great show by your favorites. Helps too when they are awesome and will shoot the shit with you after the show.

So I just recently got back from the Floggin Molly Salty Dog Cruise, and I can't tell you how happy I was the the DJ between sets decided to play some Skatalites. It was good to hear some old school Ska amongst the punk rock.

Just saw that you posted this. Supernova 2018 was a ton of fun even though it rain a shit ton both days but I had a blast with my friends who live close by. Snagged VIP tickets on the kickstarter and got tickets for The Slackers bowling show the night before. 2020's lineup is completely bonkers.

I also have this insane show coming up in a few days that's close by....

Man, this is a Dream line up. What I would give to see suicide machines, big d, and kill Lincoln on one day. Amazing show, please report back.

I was lucky enough to catch kill Lincoln and be like max in Washington this summer but I fear I’ll never see the suicide machines perform live (EU).

Yeah I "sponsored" a band on the Kickstarer and will be both in the VIP and the Slackers show and and am super looking forward to it. The previous supernovas have been highlights of my otherwise kinda lame existence so I am all in on 2020.

On a ska note, I wanted to like that Big D cover album so much more than I actually did.

Just started listening to Wookiefoot a couple days ago and it’s straight up some of the best music I’ve ever listened to. And not just reggae but all music.

I listened to their entire discography over the last two days and every album is consistently fantastic.

How was it? I recall Reel Big Fish being one of the best live shows I've been to.
Yeah, it was pretty good! There was a problem with the sound about 2/3 songs in and they had to walk off stage whilst the rather irate technicians raced to fix it, but apart from that hitch they were on fine form.

Skanksgiving was a blast last night. Everyone killed it and the crowd was awesome minus some random chick who threw up in the middle of my same friend’s dance put during The Suicide Machines. Skatune Network dude played trombone on a few songs with Catbite, Kill Lincoln and The Suicide Machines. Not seeing another big ska show until Supernova 2020 so I’m already looking forward to June unless something suddenly gets announced.

edit: Jay Navarro said that The Suicide Machines have a new record coming out on Fat Wreck Chords in March 2020. They played a new song and it sounded real good. Very similar to Destruction By Definition stuff.
