I was just wondering what the general consensus is on this. I have no problem watching shows with my parents that have a lot of sex and nudity. We’ve watched the deuce and Game of thrones together. My friends thing it’s weird and they thing it would be extremely awkward. Now don’t get me wrong it is a little awkward and if it’s too much I’ll hop on my phone and browse that Until the scene is done.

My parents and I like to watch shows together. If we didn’t watch shows that involved sexual themes, then that would drastically cut down on what we would get to watch together. Specially critically acclaimed TV series which for the most part all involve sexual themes in some way or another.

So what’s your thoughts on watching shows that have sexual theme with your parents. Is it to awkward so you just don’t do it or do you have no problem with it.

Also I’m 22 and live with my parents and there only in there late 40’s to add some context.

When The Sopranos was airing my mother and I were both way in to it, if you've ever watched it you know there's just a ton of sex happening at any given time. It was always a little awkward but never stopped me from hanging out with my mom and watching The Sopranos.

No that’s very awkward. Of course I’m old and live by myself but I live very close to my parents, and roll up for dinner a few times a week. I’ll play whatever on their tv but totally skip anything sexual.

I nearly had a panic attack when I was watching Rise of Skywalker with my dad and those two ladies kissed, so that would be a hard no on watching overtly sexual content.

Definitely wouldn’t if I didn’t live at home. They cook and make a nice meal tho and we watch a show we’re into so it’s pretty nice. If I didn’t leave here though I definitely wouldn’t watch that much shows with them.

When I was a kid I watched the American Pie with my parents and my sister. When the dude came in his pants, I said something like "haha he pissed himself". It was years later when I figured out what was actually going on. Everyone was snickering at me the bastards. I was so pure...

I usually excuse myself to go to the toilet or get something to eat when I know a sexual scene is coming up.

That’s funny. I was like 5 and my mom took me to the drive in to see open water or some shark show. I guess it opened with a sex scene and she wasn’t paying attention because she was setting up. I tap her and say “mom there’s boobies on the screen”. She starts freaking out and telling me to close my eyes 😂😂

If it comes up it comes up. Be an adult about it. It's not like you're watching their sex tape

Yeah, I mean, they're in another city and I live (and watch TV shows) alone...

We used to watch movies together though, but mostly comedy, cartoons and superhero movies.

My mother loves the Avengers and watch it every week. She has definitely seen it more times than I did.

We did watch some TV shows too though. We watched the entirety of 24, she loves Kiefer Sutherland and I thought the show was pretty good, or at least watchable in it's later seasons.

I don't remember seeing sex scenes with her though. Maybe some mild ones, but nothing explicit.

Yes, but only if it makes sense in the movie. And not mindless... that type makes me so uncomfortable with parents.

Uranus, get it?!? YOUR. ANUS.
I watch PG-13 rated stuff with my parents. Or if they're rated R, it's for intense (non-sexual) action.

They're very conservative, very religious, and putting on anything challenging would make everyone in the room uncomfortable.

Yeah, I usually go to my parents house for dinner and a movie once a week or so and my dad is kind of a movie buff so we end up watching some highly regarded R-rated movies sometimes. Doesn't really bother me. Seems to make my mom a little uncomfortable if it's particularly graphic

Around Halloween one year I was over my family's house with my sisters and parents and we were looking for a scary movie to watch. I had the remote and I ended up picking "Knock Knock" from the horror section of Netflix because it had Keanu and none of us had heard of it before. Turns out it's an "erotic" thriller, where two crazy underage girls strip naked and blackmail Keanu into sex for some reason.

So yeah.

I watched The Dirt (Motley Crue documentary) last time visiting my parents' house. Does that count?

Also, whenever I'm home and ask my dad what he wants to watch together, he almost always says to put on a comedy with young people.

It's fucking awkward. It's a minefield. My bladder doesn't store enough liquid for me to excuse myself that many times in one night. Like come on dad, you've got an IPhone, you've got porn, don't make this shit awkward, let's watch Clint Eastwood or some shit. I swear he's doing it on purpose, the fucker.

Mom and I are really chill and actually talk about a lot of stuff which made the sex talk really natural for us.

So yeah mom and I have no problem watching shows and movies with sex scenes in them (hell we watched unrated Caligula together), but my dad it's a completely different story. XD

We usually just skip past those scenes.

Granted it's the gratuitous nature of them that gets a reaction out of my mother. More natural or short lived non-sexualised nudity doesn't really seem to affect her unless my little brother is present.

Yeah I watch stuff like Game of Thrones and The Witcher with my mom (and whatever with my dad when he was alive). It's just sex.

My mom left just mountains of smut novels around when I was a kid. She is now a 70 year old lady who has audio books and an Alexa speaker thing. She gives no fucks.

Your mom: “Alexa turn it up”
Alexa: “Tony stares down Jessica’s cleavage as the sweat drips down her areola. We are in perfect harmony feeling every thrust as one.

Sure, I watched Rome and Game of Thrones with my mom, and probably other shows and movies with sexual content that I can't remember right now.

My parents and I are very open about sex in general anyway, so it's not a big deal at all.

Oh gods no. When I was 15 (thirteen maybe?) I watched Looper in theaters with my dad and just about cringed myself out of existence.

I distinctly remember going to Species at the movies with my mum cause I was about 12 and it must've been an R-16. She'd let me see all of the great violent sci-fi films on VHS up till then, so I thought we'd be fine, but that movie sort of hitched to the erotic thriller trend of the early-mid 90's and it was pretty uncomfortable.
I think that's actually the last time she's gone to the movies :/

I watched Von Triers' the idiots with my mom. Suffices to say that 'one' scène was very awkward... (look it up if you don't know what scène I mean). Other than that, I usually don't care. Game of Thrones would be no problem for example.
